Marketing
Article marketing is an excellent way to promote your
website or blog and get more traffic to your sites.
Basically you write good quality informative articles, at
least 500 words is best - some of the better directories have a
minimum wordage allowed. The articles can be about any subject
but it is better if the subject ties in with what you are
promoting. If you are not a writer it's easy and cheap enough
to hire a ghostwriter on the Internet. I use Elance.com occassionally when I haven't
got the time to write my own articles.
Be creative with your title, add a short summary to grab
attention and select some good keywords. When you submit your
articles to directories you will be able to include details
about yourself and between one 1 and 3 of your website
links in the author resource box.
When your articles are accepted the directories provide
backlinks to your sites and hopefully readers will click on
your links in the author resource box. The beauty of article
marketing is that good articles can have a viral effect.
Most article directories offer a free service but not just
to authors. The other side of article marketing is that the
directories provide free content to publishers for their
websites, blogs and ezines - providing that the publishers
retain the author details and article source. The best articles
can end up on many websites, blogs and ezines providing you
with incoming links to your website which helps in building up
your rankings in search engines and should get you more
targeted traffic and more customers.
One way that you can help to get more article reads is to
socially bookmark your articles once they have been
accepted. In a short time social bookmarking can mean a
difference between a handful of reads and hundreds.
There are lots of different opinions about the best way to
article market and there are many different publications
offering advice. The absolute best guide that I have read is
the Article Marketing Handbook. You can read my review
here.
